As we anticipated Google officially announced the name and released the final version of latest Android 8.0. It is called as Android O(as it is labeled after sweets, in an alphabetical sequence) since its release of developer previews a few months back. Like all other sweet names that older Android versions got, Android O now has an official moniker which is none other than “Android Oreo”.
Google introduced Oreo during the solar eclipse day on August 21, 2017 in New York City. Android 8.0 Oreo code will be submitted to Android Open Source Project. Pixel and several Nexus phones will be the first to get this Android Oreo update. Devices enlisted in Android Beta Program will also get final build.
Google also mentioned a list of companies who will get this Oreo update for their devices by the end of this year. Companies include Samsung, Motorola, Sony, HTC, LG, Huawei, Sharp, Essential, HMD Global etc. They will either get an update to their devices or launch a new device with Oreo inside. Android Oreo is indeed loaded with lots of new features.

It also made some changes in notifications, new update brings Notification dots and channels which help users to get complete control over notifications
- Intelligent text Selection
With this feature, your Android can easily identify particular names, contact as well as mobile numbers. which means it can instantly choose the proper part of the text and you won’t have to spend time typing texts.
Advanced Autofill Framework, Improved Google play safety scan for apps, Flexible icons are among the other features.
